REVIEW: Himalaya Herbals Lip Balm

Hello everyone! Today I have a quick review for you guys! With winter on the way, who wants dry, chapped lips? Nobody right. Last year I used the Himalaya Herbals Lip Balm, so will I be repurchasing this lip balm this winter as well or not? Let's find out!

Enriched with wheatgerm and carrot seed oils and much more herbal goodness, this lip balm comes in squeezy tube packaging very much like a lip gloss. The lip balm itself isn't tinted and it only claims to nourish the lips and prevent dryness and chapping.

Wheatgerm oil is a natural antioxidant and is a rich source of  Vitamin E and B which is great for skin. The antioxidants are good for reversing any skin damage and what's best is that wheatgerm oil has a natural SPF
rating of 20!

Carrot Seed oil is also really good for skin! Apart from being a natural source of UV protection with an SPF of 38-40, this essential oil is rich in Vitamin A, which gives it antiseptic and antifungal properties!

No doesn't all that sound awesome? Even though the added SPF factor makes you think this would be better suited for the summertime to combat sun damage, but don't be fooled girls, sun protection is just as important in the winters and hence it is vital to protect your skin against sun damage all year round.

What makes this lip balm great for winters for me, is the fact that it heals dried and badly chapped lips quite well! Why I prefer this lip balm over Vaseline or my EOS lip balms is because this has a formula that's perfect in the middle. It's not too slippery and shiny like Vaseline and it's not slightly drier like the EOS lip balms, it works well for me in winters precisely because it's something in the middle! I find that although this isn't a drastic treatment in a tube kind of a sensational lip balm, it is quite moisturizing and infact just the right amount of moisture for me. I hate the shiny, goopy feeling Vaseline leaves on the lips especially if I want to wear a lip color over my balm, I do NOT want the shininess and the lip color sliding off but its still important to moisturize somehow and because of that, yes! I will be going back to this one. Although there's so many out there in the market, I feel like the results I get from this are very satisfactory to say the least and for the price of PKR 110 it's a bargain alright! I got my sister converted to this as well!

LOVES:
- Heals quickly.
- Not too glossy or slippery.
- Colorless.
- Convenient and hygenic squeezy tube.
- Moisturizes my lips sufficiently.

DISLIKES:
- None yet as such.
- May not be available worldwide.

My Rating:

4/5: Loves it! This ones a keeper!

I took one mark off because even though this is great, it doesn't mean that my hunt for an even better product has stopped. Remember, this is only a lip balm and not an intensive treatment for the lips, so for the purpose it is made, it works well for me. Also, many lip balms will have different finishes and effects for each individual, it all depends on what you are looking for and the kind of lips you have! Let me know in the comments down below what kind of lip balms do you prefer? Do you have a Holy Grail lip balm? :)

  1. I have never tried this one but it seems promising. My HG lip balm is lip smoothie by Nivea. Its the ultimate hydration I can ever get!
