REVIEW: NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams

If you're a matte lip lover then you have surely heard of the NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams, and since you are a fan of matte lips you must also know the pains of wearing one! Dry, uncomfortable lips that start to feel like rubber with lots of lip lines. Ekhh. Not a pretty sight. Enter NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream, the solution to all of that and much more! I feel insanely silly for not having tried these before!

Not only does the doe foot applicator make applying these a piece of cake, they smell like one too! Like caramel and vanilla in my opinion, forgive me if my sense of smell is wrong! The packaging is so compact I didn't expect it to be so tiny but the rubberized caps offer grip and the 8 ml is a good amount for the price. The texture is very soft, almost like a mousse so the product isn't runny or too thick either, just perfect. Some colors do apply streaky and you will need to go over the first layer with another coat but that just brings out the brilliant opaque color even more. The best part however, is definitely how comfortable these are to wear! The wear time is just as incredible as any long wear matte lipstick but without the dryness and wrinkly lips. You also get a little bit more playtime before these go totally matte, I'd say a good 2 minutes and even after they don't feel like a thick mask of plaster on your lips until quite a long time. Eventually your lips will feel dry, for me it's about 6-7 hours later which is totally acceptable as far as my experience goes with liquid to matte lipsticks.

Whats also great is the new colors NYX has come out with in 2014 to add to the range, which is precisely what made me think "I HAVEEE to try them out now!". Introducing shades that are more vibrant and bright making the color palette for the Soft Matte Lip Creams vary from a selection of concealer nudes, to warmer MLBB colors, and then some fantastic bright summery colors and finally deeper berries and outright blackened burgundies.

I'd say there's something for everyone and I'm completely head over heels for the shades I chose! Ibiza is a beautiful soft coral with just the perfect amount of punch to it. Perfect everyday shade. Prague is a stunning purple which is so wearable! See me wearing it HERE. Last but in no manner the least, is Morocco, a brilliantly loud orange that barely touches neon. Summer in a tube! You can wear them to full opacity or apply a tiny amount and spread it all over the lips for a stained effect or even mix and match! I love mixing Ibiza with Morocco!

All in all, a top notch drugstore product! I am hooked because these are so effortless to wear. You can buy these off the NYX website or places like Ulta and Target. For beauty lovers in Pakistan, these can be ordered online via Beauty Hub for PKR 900.
LOVES:
-Texture isn't too drying.
-Comfortable wear.
-Great pigmentation which can be built up to full intensity.
-Lasts long if you don't eat it off (I've done that a few times :p)
-Affordable and great value for money.

DISLIKES:
-Some shades need two coats.
-Availability in Pakistan may be a problem.

My Rating:

5/5: Technically a 4.5 because of streaky application but in short I'm in love!
