REVIEW: W7 Lip Bomb!

If you're lucky like me to living in Lahore- lucky enough to experience both the extreme heat that feels like you've just been baked to perfection, and the dry, frozen glory of the wintertime- then you'd know how desperately the skin needs to be quenched of its thirst for moisture pretty much all year round. And when it comes to lips- lets just say thirsty lips (chapped, cracked and all that nice stuff) is not a look anyone wants to rock. The obvious quick fix to that would be to reach for a lip balm. I recently received the W7 Lip Bomb, so let's find out if it is indeed the bomb or not!

I know what you're thinking. EOS knock offs? The spherical resemblance to the EOS balm is not just coincidence since W7 is now well known for creating affordable dupes of higher end products from many, many brands. My only question is, why create a dupe for a product that is already quite affordable? You will find the EOS lip balms around the 600-750 PKR mark and even less on local websites and services and the W7 Lip Bomb is priced at PKR 650. Would I have considered buying this over the original? Probably not.

But here's what saves this product. Many people complain that while the EOS balms are great, they're just not super hydrating. Quite frankly, neither are these. But they offer just that littttllleee bit more hydration than the EOS. Personally, I quite enjoy the waxy texture of EOS but I have to say the formula for this feels even better. It feels incredibly lightweight on the lips and I love that! There's still little to no shine from the balm, which is what I love about the EOS and I'm glad that these are similar and don't leave me with uber glossy lips. These are also perfect for layering under matte lipsticks and such without altering the finish of the lipstick!

If you are hunting for a glossy balm, the Maybelline Baby Lips or the Rosebud Salve are the way to go for you. If you don't like sticky, heavy balms- the W7 Lip Bomb is great! But if you expect insane hydration, then this isn't bomb enough to blow you away. That said, I do feel that this leaves my lips considerably softer and supple with consistent usage. On a side note, the one I have is Pink Cherry, and while it has no apparent flavor, if you like the smell of cherry flavored candy like me, you will love the smell. But if you don't, it doesn't linger for long so that's not an issue. The product is available in three variations, so if you don't prefer cherry, you can always opt for a different one.

All in all, a pretty neat product in terms of formulation, but I fail to see how it's expected to be a cheaper dupe when it's priced at PKR 650. I probably won't repurchase although I do like it a lot but I just don't see myself dishing out that much money on a lip balm because when there much more affordable options on the market. You can purchase the W7 Lip Bomb online on beautified.pk or in stores at AlFatah, Lahore. The beautified team also caters to international customers through their UK based website- beautified.co.uk!
