REVIEW: Revlon Photoready Cream Blush- Flushed!

Hello gorgeous! Today I want to share with my first experience with a cream blush! The Revlon Photoready blush in Flushed sounds interesting with all it's claims to provide lightweight but buildable flushed cheeks that are PHOTO ready! Is it so or not? Let's find out!

Look at that PINK! It screams happiness! Flushed is a gorgeous creme hot pink that leans slightly towards a fuschia but translates to a gorgeous barbie doll pink on the cheeks and nothing scary! The blush contains zero shimmer although it claims to have light reflective "photochromatic" pigments to lighten up your face.

The packaging is sturdy and not too heavy at all. For a jar it's nice and sleek, not too big and just the right size to swirl your brush or finger in there. The fact that the sticker isn't dead in the center annoys me (OCD problems) but atleast it isn't extremely off center and stuck to the extreme left (the horror!).

The formula is creamy to touch but nothing too sticky! It sets to a finish that wouldn't categorize as a cream or powder product. It's almost like the color is peeking through your skin if that makes any sense, and leaves a gorgeous glow that would normally come from the a product that's slightly creamy or contains shimmer. I'm guessing it's the "photochromatic" pigments that reflect light working as Revlon puts it. Even after it sets, it isn't sticky and doesn't transfer  even in the heat of Lahore so that's one of the reasons to love it!

Since this is the first cream blush I've ever tried, I went for the most convenient tool- my Real Techniques Stippling Brush. I wouldn't have used my fingers or a sponge anyways because I prefer a brush. Instead of buffing the product into my skin, I like to stipple the blush onto my cheeks building up to the intensity I want. It's a little more work than your average powder blush but the result is beautiful, lit from within flush of color which is exactly what the product promises to do!

It's not hard to build this blush up at all! Once, twice and it's good to go! A third layer could also have built up really easily because this blush layers beautifully and doesn't look goopy or sit weird on the skin once blended out.

Blended some more and I was done!

I'm wearing two layers and as you can tell from the "After" photo, the glow is very obvious and translates well when photographed but it's nothing like the oily greasy I had feared it would turn into. With a stippling brush, it takes some time (by sometime I mean probably your first cheek application only) to get used to blending but it's no rocket science. You could use a powder blush or translucent powder to set this but I don't and get about 5 hours of wear after which it starts fading evenly and that's when I tested it on a day with crazy power cuts and extreme heat! With a setting powder or spray and less of the crazy heat, it should last a lot longer but then again Revlon makes no claims of this product being a long wearing one so I can't say I was misled.

Oh and in case anyone wants to know, I have the Revlon Just Bitten Balm Stain in Lovesick on! These two are MADE FOR EACH OTHER!

All in all, I love this blush and can't wait to collect the other two shades in this range! It layers beautifully unlike some cream blushes I've swatched in stores that tend to remove the layer beneath as you add on another. It gives a healthy glow and sculpts the face because it's got that dimension to it that powder blushes don't. It lasts well enough on my combination to oily skin and I have fallen head over heels for everything about this product and cannot wait for winters to use this and get glowing like a snow bunny! The Revlon Photoready Blush lives up to all it's claims and more! I don't regret my purchase at all!

I got mine from Ulta.com for $12.99, you can get yours from Pakistan for PKR 2000 I believe at stores and online shopping sites!

LOVES:
-Layers beautifully.
-Makes my skin glow!
-Photochromatic pigments work well!
-Photographs beautifully (PHOTOREADY alright!)

DISLIKES:
-Need a bit more work to blend as compared to a powder blush.
-A bit expensive if bought from a Pakistani retailer of Revlon.

My Rating:
4/5: New favorite!!!
