REVIEW: Anastasia Beverly Hills Maya Mia Palette!

If you have been unfortunate like me to miss out on the Limited Edition Amrezy Palette from Anastasia Beverly Hills, I would say all is not lost yet. Behold, the Maya Mia palette! I have to admit, I was on the fence about this palette because I was unsure how well or not the shades would compliment my skintone but I can say I do not regret my purchase one bit! It's sold out almost everywhere but if you're lucky it can still be yours!

PACKAGING:
I will not lie, I am NOT a fan of this packaging. The design just isn't me. Too much going on. It's got a faulty mirror that gives me vertigo every time I look into it and the cardboard isn't the best. That said, it did survive a trip from America to my arms without so much as a scratch so I will give it that. It is sturdy enough. Magnetic closure is perfect too and is lightweight! The box includes 5 instructional flash cards for 5 stunning looks and a double ended brush that should assist you in creating them!

PRODUCT:
The palette is a collaboration between the brand and beauty guru, Maya_mia_y (Maya Janeska) with a versatile mix of 10 stunning shades. The hype around these, much like any Anastasia product, is insane which is why at first swatch, I was fairly disappointed. The mattes translated well but surprisingly, the shimmers dragged onto the skin quite unevenly. But I soon realized that the shadows simply needed breaking into because they must have been pressed a bit too hard. A couple of uses later, they now swatch like a dream! Every bit amazing as the hype that surrounds them!

The matte shades, and there are five of them, are so intensely pigmented and the shimmers are good but not as gorgeous as the mattes in my opinion. There is also one metallic finish shadow in this palette, Glisten, a repeat from the Amrezy palette and it is to die for! The brush itself isn't too bad either but not my weapon of choice unfortunately. The mattes are without a doubt my favorites. Mainly why I adore this palette, the colors Nude, Deep Brown, Sienna, Warm Taupe and Caramel might seem your average neutrals, but they're not. I don't think I have dupes of these in my collection not even the Nude. I kid you not. I get so much use out of Warm Taupe, it's great for that "there, but not quite" shadow contouring. And can I just say I LOVE Sienna! Laaaaaaave it. The only disappointments for me are Aqua and Vanilla which are hard to layer, but pretty nonetheless. Ooh oohh! And Deep Brown also doubles as the perfect brow powder for me!

Lasting power is good without a primer, but even better with a base. And I have oily skin so that says it all. Other than the minor packaging glitches, I don't see any reason to say that I don't completely adore this palette! Anastasia nailed it, yet again! I now realize this was a smarter purchase than the Amrezy for me. And how gorgeous are the eye looks by Maya Mia!? My favorite is the smokey cat eye! *stares endlessly*

PRICE:
This limited edition palette retails for $29. The price is a steal compared to higher end eyeshadow palettes out there! Also super cool is the fact that you can sign up on their website and get a 10% off code for your first purchase so technically I got this palette for $26 bucks! INSANE. And they sent me a free FULL-SIZE Waterproof Creme Color in Jet as a sample. So generous! It has run out on the Anastasia website and Ulta online, but if you're lucky you might find it in an Ulta or Sephora store. If not, you can still get your hands on it on Amazon here. All Anastasia eyeshadows are available as singles and as bundles with the "Build A Palette" option here!

My Rating:
4/5: Great value for money

Next on my list from them are definitely their brand new Liquid Lipsticks! If you haven't seen those beauties yet, you HAVE to see here! Have you tried any Anastasia Beverly Hills product? What's your favorite? Until next time! <3
