REVIEW: MUA Lip Products

Hello everyone! I am back with another review! Today I have in the spotlight, three different lip products from MUA! Enjoy reading!

This was my very first time trying out MUA products and since I've been more into lip products these days I thought I'd give these a go. I got the MUA Lipstick in Shade 16-Nectar, the MUA Out There Plumping Lip Gloss in Sienna, and an MUA LOVE HEARTS Lip Balm in Sweet Kiss from their launch in February 2012.

The MUA Lipstick retails at a single pound! and both the  MUA Out There Plumping Lip Gloss  and MUA LOVE HEARTS Lip Balm retail at 2 pounds each! I got mine from Just4girls who ship nationwide!

The MUA Lipstick in Shade 16-Nectar, is nice coral orange and I haven't come across a coral shade that compliments my olive toned asian skin quite as well as this one! Most coral shades are either too bright and make me look too yellow or end up looking neon and make me look pale and sickly. This shade however, was surprisingly nice to me!

This lipstick is very creamy in consistency and I absolutely LOVE the smell!!! It smells heavenly! For the price I thought the packaging would me pretty flimsy but it doesn't feel all that cheap at all! The lipstick is pigmented enough but it's a bit too creamy for my liking so as easily as it glides onto the lips one should expect it to glide off just as easy too. I tried storing this in the fridge for sometime to see if the super creaminess goes away or not, but it really doesn't, so if you are looking for a lipstick that feels super soft and creamy and is very moisturising, this may be the one for you. If you like matte lipsticks, then let me tell you there's nothing matte about this one although you could use the layer and blot technique! This lipstick on it's own lasts me about 2-3 hours without eating or drinking before I really need a touch up!

Now onto the MUA Out There Plumping Lip Gloss in Sienna! I absolutely loved the swatches I saw online and thought WOW! That looks like one pigmented lip gloss and it plumps up your lips! It's comes in a nice sleek, long packaging with a doe-foot applicator and I think for the price you get quite a lot of product!!

I was super excited to receive this especially, but it did dissappoint me quite a bit! Unlike the lipstick, this product has no scent at all. That could be a plus for some! As soon as I put it on, I felt such a strong burning sensation on the lips, it was no joke my friends, no joke! It felt like my lips were on fire literally! I thought maybe it was just me! I took it off immediately because it was almost painful.

Since then I shudder at the sound of plumping lip glosses and my life was miserable and everything was dark- Lol, I'm only joking :P It wasn't that bad. It didn't scar me for life in any way at all! Hahah.

I gave it a second chance and this time i applied a light layer and it didn't burn as bad. Just a slight tingling. Nonetheless I can assure you that the tingling was nothing pleasant but on the bright sideee- the tingling goes away in some time! I find that applied over a lipstick it doesn't tingle as bad either. As far as the plumping is concerned, I definitely notice a slight difference but nothing like serious duck face lips! Like they say, no pain, no gain! ;)

Last but not least is the MUA LOVE HEARTS Lip Balm in Sweet Kiss! Again, I like the packaging, although it is plastic, it isn't completely cheap looking for the price not to mention that it's SUPER cuteee!

This lip balm smells great too. Ugh. So good. If you're into warm, vanilla-esque smells you will love this!!! The balm moisturizes good but not the best! However it really packs on gloss onto your lips with a hint of color, so if you're looking for a balm that's super glossy and gives a pop of color, the love hearts balms are nice for the price!

And now it is SWATCH time!

Thankyou so much for reading and don't forget, if something works great for me it may or may not be the same for you, similarly if I personally don't like something it could still be the product for you! At the price, these are definitely worth a try. If you liked my review, please follow my blog and like me on Facebook for more. Comment down below, I'd love to hear from YOU!

  7. Awesome post again!! And that burning sensation with that gloss. Let me tell me you you are not alone my friend!! It was this weird mirchi lagney wali sensation. I mean I am not the one to mind the tingling of the plumping lip glosses but tingling is fine BURNING is not!!

Although it actually has decent pigmentation and is not too sticky!! LOLL Thank God it did not scar you for life and you did not lose faith in plumping glosses.

And the lipstick I have in shade 3 or maybe it is 6 but ya I like creamy lipsticks so I don't mind. And I LOVEEEE the lip balms. They are tooo cute and smell divine! I have all shades they have but one!!

And the customized ratings thing you have is seriously CUTE!! And I sound like a broken record but love the pictures particularly how the background makes it so festive and bright!!

    1. I know, the burning was really bad, but thank God it doesn't happen so much now! The pigmentation is awesome for this but I find layering it over a lipstick helps it not burn so much! Thankyou so much once again!!! I am going to have a really good night's sleep thanks to all your love and appreciation! I love you guys! <3
