REVIEW: Color Studio Pro Blush in Havana!

As the summer sizzles by, there are a million colors that come to mind when you think SUMMER, but with the crazy heat in Pakistan you need something softer and cooler toned to balance off the warmth in my opinion! The Color Studio Pro Blush in Havana may just exactly be that, but does it survive this heat?

Starting off with the packaging, I see no faults in it. It is on the rather "large" side as far as blush compacts are concerned but it's still nice and sturdy. It fell once but did not shatter out of existence to my relief. The text on the top hasn't faded yet so that's a definite plus too. The plastic lid however, is prone to getting scratchy with wear so unless you like the scratchy, grunge look, maybe you could keep it in the cardboard box it comes with when not in use.

A large blush, this contains a crazy 13 grams of product for the price of PKR 600, which in my opinion makes it a very, very budget friendly product. One of these will last me a lifetime I think, unless I use it every single day in which case I'll definitely repurchase!

The color is a gorgeous muted, dusty pink that is a touch brown. Looks very neutral in the pan but may transfer as a more pinky or peachy blush depending on your skintone and undertones. On me it's definitely quite neutral but leans a touch towards peach! The blush contains cooler toned silvery pink micro-glitter particles which I don't mind because it adds to the beauty of the blush giving it an almost satin finish when the glitters reflect light off your face not to mention they STAY in place so you don't end up looking like Ms.Discoball.

Not only is the blush pigmented quite nicely, the powder has a very soft, smooth texture. It glides on effortlessly onto the cheeks too! The only thing that didn't impress me so, was the amount of fall out that broke loose like hell when I first dipped my BCC Angled Blush Brush into the pan. Perhaps it was the brush? because I use it with my Real Techniques Blush Brush now and there's no fall out in the pan? Lol, I find it quite strange but perhaps it is so because the latter has softer bristles. In any case, you may want to be careful with the blush because you don't want pigment falling everywhere.

What I absolutely love is the way this blush sits on the face. Not at all cakey, and looks super smooth! It lasts a good 4-5 hours on my combination to oily skin before I need a touch up which isn't the longest, but it isn't the worst either. With the amount of blush you've got, a touch up should not be an issue unless the size doesn't allow you to carry it everywhere you'd like. I usually touch my brush onto the pan, and  sweep it across my cheek twice to build up to the intensity I prefer.

Here is Havana swatched  with a single swipe on my arm. Here's what it looks like on me!

In short, if you are looking for a more neutral blush under a budget, this one has no reasons why it should disappoint. The glitters may not be everyone's cup of tea, but I'm impressed by the fact that they don't transfer all over the face like some drugstore glittery face products. Havana has definitely become one of my favorites because it can look good paired with any kind of makeup look being such a neutral color and it's super wearable so I strongly recommend this for people starting out with makeup.

LOVES:
-Pigmentation.
-Glides onto the skin effortlessly.
-Tiny glitters work well and don't transfer.
-Very wearable shade.
-Lasts a good 4-5 hours in this heat.

DISLIKES:
-Ridiculous fall out in the pan (only experienced with some brushes).
-May be too big to fit into a tiny clutch bag.

My Rating:
4/5:  Definitely a LOVE!

    1. The good thing about this is, that it's still quite matte despite the sheen that comes with the glitters!
