REVIEW: Wet n Wild Sugar Plum Fairy!

I've mentioned before that Wet n Wild Megalast lipsticks are a favorite of mine, but I've never gotten around to sharing this love of mine with you guys! Here's a look at Sugar Plum Fairy!

At a first glance, the packaging doesn't look so bad. It's not particularly jaw dropping gorgeous but nothing too bad for the price of $1.99-2.99. It's nice to be able to see the color but I do hate the fact that the lipstick bullet won't go all the way in! It so much more easier to nick it and get the cap all messy! Also, chuck this in your bag a few times and the shiny black plastic will start to mattify and the words start fading off as well but nothing seriously annoying there either, happens with some pretty expensive products too so I can't say I want to complain since this is a mere fraction of the price of those higher end products.

You get 3.3g of product in one tube and although it's less than most lipsticks, let me tell you, you really don't need too much of these lipsticks, atleast not this one! Below is a one swipe swatch on my lips and it is so superbly pigmented that it AMAZES me. I want to just sit and stare at the color pay off because it's absolutely fabulous! Obviously with such good pigmentation you don't need to use up more product and it really lasts long, and when Wet n Wild says MegaLast, they MEAN MegaLast! The longevity of this lipstick in particular is 6-7 hours on me sometimes even more. Eating and drinking will definitely transfer some pigment off of your lips but the color still looks pretty good within the 6 hour mark for me!

Since this is a matte lipstick, people have said or are afraid that these could be super drying, on me these are not drying at all, although I do recommend exfoliation prior application to remove any flakes of dead skin because any matte lipstick will accentuate those icky bits. I don't think this is a drying formula or uncomfortable at all and it doesn't tug or pull on your lips during application either. Personally I don't wear a lip balm over or under this but you may want to if you have excessive dryness on your lips to keep them moisturized or if you prefer a glossier finish.

I love the name for this lipstick. If fairies wore studded leather jackets this would be the lipstick they'd rock! The perfect just bitten lips, innocent but not quite! ;) The shade itself is a gorgeous bright blue toned plum, perfect for winters and a great shade especially for Asian skintones. You could apply this by blotting for a really sheer stain effect or go for pigment packed lips either way, the color looks amazing!

Reviews all over the web compare Sugar Plum Fairy to the MAC Rebel lipstick and though I don't own it (yet ;p) the swatch comparisons look very much alike so if you're looking for a MAC Rebel dupe, this may be it! I have compared it to Sleek MakeUP's Pout Paint in Port and although they are slightly similar, Port is a hint lighter and a tad bit on the warmer, pinkier side and sets to a satin finish.

To conclude, I have to say I absolutely LOVE this lipstick! Winters or not, this is definitely going to be my favorite in 2013!

LOVES:
-Pigmentation.
-Longevity.
-Comfortable formula for a matte lipstick.
-Affordable.

DISLIKES:

-Packaging can get messy.

My Rating: (I have to disregard the packaging issues because the product performs so well for me and is cheap enough to keep repurchasing)
5/5: Makes me feel like a diva!
