Been working like a slave, lol, I should be thanking God that I am working and things finally feel good. However, everyone needs a break now and then, so to run away from my project for a bit, I decided to post a quick review on the Garnier BB Cream for you guys!
I got this a few three weeks ago or maybe more, and used it religiously for three days straight until I noticed tiny red spots all over my forehead and some above the nose. My first thought was "Oh no! It's probably the BB cream!!" I wanted to love it so much because when I first applied it I was like Whoa! Anyways, so I stopped using this until my breakouts went away and it was during that time that I realized that the Garnier BB cream wasn't the reason my skin was reacting like it was chicken diseased. It was the darn Aveeno moisturizer I had recently started using! >:( So after I chucked that out of my daily routine, I had to give this another shot because I was pleasantly surprised by its performance before.
I haven't looked back since! This leaves a nice matte finish without looking dead and actually covers up minor imperfections! I made my mom try it and it reduced the pores on her skin visibly and left her impressed too! I picked up the shade LIGHT since it was the only one available at the store and I was sure it wouldn't match me and that I'd have to pass it on to my sister who is 3 shades lighter than I am. Again, I was pleasantly surprised. Oh Garnier, how you surprise me!
It blends easily, although it's isn't a cream consistently, but then, having never tried a BB cream before I wouldn't know what it should be like. This is more like a liquidy, runny foundation. Smells nothing foul but does have a faint scent that reminds me of a strange bubblegum I used to have as a kid but I can't quite remember the name. I"ve tried fingers, the Real Techniques Expert Face brush, the Sigma F82 and my e.l.f powder brush to apply this and I like how it blends with the e.l.f flat top powder brush best.
On my oily t-zone, this lasts all day throughout my typical university day. I notice only a very minimal amount of fading that too only on areas of the face that I tend to touch a lot throughout the day. This really makes it a winner for me. I don't really buy the "miracle" skin perfector stuff and how after 3? or is it 4? weeks you're supposed to notice a major difference. I don't see it to be honest. But it does work really well WHILE it's on my face so I'm not worried. Plus, it's a good 40ml for the price of less than most BB creams out in the market, none of which are the real deal Asian BB creams either. All those things alone make this BB cream worth the 399 PKR and more because it's wonderful on it's own. I don't know how extremely oily skinned people will find this but I would recommend giving this a shot and maybe carrying some translucent powder with you to touch up.
My only few complaints are A) The very slight, teensy pink undertone in this. It doesn't show up on camera and it's not very noticeable in real life either, but it does bother me a little. Inspite of that, I'm happy that it doesn't leave a white/grey cast on the face at all. B) It gets kinda messy because it's so runny. C) If my shade is LIGHT, what are girls fairer than me supposed to go for? :o
For the price, you do get the bang for your buck and it's so cheap plus easily available locally so trying it out is not even a question. If it doesn't end up working for you, you can always give it away to a sister or friend to try, they might just love it like I do!

Great review. I am in LOVE with it. Using it religiously since I bought it. One Garnier product that didn't break me out. xx
ReplyDeleteMe too! This has replaced my everyday powder/foundations and I'm so happy that I don't have to wear foundation when I want a little bit of coverage only! :)
DeleteMy Moms and I were debating on whether to get the dream fresh BB cream but decided to let it go. I think she ll like this one :D
ReplyDeleteThe dream fresh leaves a dewy finish! This one is so nice and matte! Plus it looked great on my Mom. Poreless perfection!
DeleteI literally bought this the other day! I should have but I guess now I'll have to make another shopping trip ;)
ReplyDeletehareem x
You have tooo! This is unexpectedly amazing!
DeleteAmong all drugstore BB creams I have tried so far . This one is my fav (although I have US version so not sure if formula is same or not $
ReplyDeleteI don't think the formula is the same for the US and these local ones. This ones still pretty awesome!
DeleteOkay, I am buying this first thing in the morning and blaming you for it. :O xx
ReplyDeleteHahhahah! :D I love it and I hope you do too! <3
Deletethe shade light was too dark/orangish on me as if i had a fake tan on :o
ReplyDeleteotherwise i loved the coverage it gave!
:O Exactly what I meant about fairer girls having problems finding the right shade! Maybe they have something lighter than LIGHT?
Deleteyou convinced me lady I am buying it.
ReplyDeleteI hope it works out just as good for you! <3
DeleteGonna get it soon IA :) <3
ReplyDeleteYay! :)
DeleteSuch a detailed post. I love the way you write :-)
ReplyDeleteI am definitely buying this. I was really confused which brand to get
I am so glad I got this! :D Thanks! <3
Deletegreat review as always....ayesha does it have spf?
ReplyDeleteIt does say it has SPF 20 but I wouldnt count on it to give me proper sun protection!
DeleteLooks like a decent product for the price :)
ReplyDeleteI'm actually glad I got this! So much in love!
DeleteWohaaa!!!! I never thought any BB cream going to suit be cus of my oily skin but this seems promising. I so want to give it a try now xxxxxx
ReplyDeleteI think this will suit you Sana! :)
DeleteThis is really tempting me to try it now. :D
ReplyDeleteTry it!!! I think you'll like it! You don't even need that much coverage you have such nice skin!
DeleteAwwww thanks sweetie :) xx
DeleteI got the one for oily skin too cuz my skin is extremely oily! The only issue I have is that since I have a wheatish tone of skin when I apply the BB cream in Light (apparently thats the only tone available for oily skin), my face looks like its been overdone with white! I end up toning even the BB cream down with powders and such just so I don't look like chucked my face in the flour bin! Otherwise I love how light it is and how it gives coverage to minor imperfections!
ReplyDeleteYes, I wish they would come out with more shades! This would be great for my sister who doesn't really wear makeup but on special occasions she needs some coverage and foundations are too much for her. But she's too light and there's no shade to match her :\
Deletegreat detailed review
ReplyDeleteThankyou Shinaaya! <3
Deleteso nice n detail review Ayesha :) i also bought this one month ago bcz i want the light coverage n yes u r right its so light on the skin that when we don't want to wear heavy foundations then this is great alternative :) but it makes my t zone shiny after three hours which is not usually the case i have with my foundations :( but then i remembered i didn't use any powder to set it so yes my fault hehehe
ReplyDeleteIt stays semi matte on me even on hot days! I got stuck in my car a few days back, lol, for a good two hours at around 4pm (key broke and long story to that hahah) and it got so hot and the BB cream was intact even after that! :o
Deleteill ask my mom to come after you when i buy this and she'll be like you bought more makeuppp etc etc haha! everything is makeup to her, even creams and stuff haha!
ReplyDeleteI m preferring this over maybebllline these days!nice review
ReplyDeleteThis is my go to summer foundation! Love the light coverage and the finish but I agree the shade is slightly pink. Using a good pressed powder neutralizes it.
ReplyDeleteThis looks great, im loving the tube! <3
ReplyDeletexo
I think it breaks me out! still testing, great review!:)
ReplyDeleteNice Review :) Hope this would suit my skin well.

I think Garnier reformulated this BB cream here in Indonesia. Everybody seems to love this product, but my skin hate it. I still think the original korean bb cream is still a whole lot better than this.
