REVIEW: Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation!

Hello world! It seems like ages since I last reviewed a foundation. They're just so difficult to do because my skin is super moody. Perks of being a combination-oily skinned girl. Since I have the best of both worlds, (dry spots + oily Tzone, plus acne prone skin- I've pretty much got it all), my face is the perfect candidate to test this out. I've been religiously using the original Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation since August last year so it's safe to say how I feel about this!

PACKAGING:
The plastic bottle is lightweight hence easy to travel with. The pump makes usage convenient and fuss free. Major points for a pump that actually dispenses product evenly WITHOUT looking like a child just devoured a tub of nutella.

PRODUCT:
Healthy Mix is meant for all skin types, but is on the more satin-dewy finish side so it may not be the best choice for extremely oily skinned girls. I have found it occasionally clinging to dry patches which is not a good look, so people with dry skin should moisturize before applying this. Application is a dream with this stuff and blending is effortless really! Best part is, it looks like actual skin and not a cakey mess. Whether you choose to buff it away or stipple it onto the face, the coverage is always pretty neat! Just one single pump is enough to cover my entire face although it doesn't conceal bigger problem areas like that huge zit on my chin, completely on its own. The coverage is buildable so if you don't have a tonne of skin problems you are good to go with the Healthy Mix. It evens out the skin tone fairly well, not to mention every time I apply this, I feel so energized because it smells AMAZING! It has a noticeable, fruity scent which does linger on until the foundation sets, but it's not even close to repulsive. Probably the fruit therapy claim doing its thing, and my God, it does smell quite refreshing! It also claims to leave your skin glowing, which it does. I get a satiny finish which is dewier on summer days and yet it seems to last surprisingly well! Usually dewy foundations don't last as long as this one does but it doesn't give me the 16 hrs of perfection that it claims to. I get about 6-7 hours of flawless finish before I notice oiliness and fading on the cheeks. It also feels great on the skin. On bad skin days, I feel like it actually makes my skin feel better.

What I do dislike is, the very limited shade range on the Healthy Mix line. With only 8 shades, that too, mostly yellow toned, it's not likely everyone will find a match. Luckily, 52 Vanilla is a dead on match for my NC20-25 skin. Once it sets I don't notice it oxidizing at all, so that's impressive as well!

You can also see me wearing this foundation herehere and hereThis is the original version by Bourjois, they now make a reformulated one in glass packaging and added radiance, but I have tried both and did not see any major differences. Overall, pretty kickass foundation in my opinion! It does all that it claims to with the exception of lasting for 16 hrs! I fix the average wear time with a setting spray and it lasts really well for me throughout the day. Famous dupe for the Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua foundation, I can see why there is so much hyper around the Healthy Mix Foundation since Bourjois is the sister company to Chanel. Great for daily wear! Without a doubt one of my top favorite foundations and I wouldn't think twice before repurchasing, I love this stuff!!

PRICE:
Since it's hard to get hold of this version, I ordered it via Sophia Collection on Facebook but I have seen it in select stores in Lahore. You might still be able to get this one but if not, I'm certain the new and improved version would be nothing short of amazing! You can also find it at the following stores online:

Boots £9.99
Amazon.com -$14.95
Beauty Arena - PKR 2300

LOVES:
-Comfortable wear.
-Satin finish.
-Great color match for yellow undertones.
-Medium to buildable coverage.
-Comes with a pump!

DISLIKES:
- Wear time is average.

My Rating:
4/5: Pretty fantastic for a drugstore product!

  3. I literally can not live without this stuff. I also have combination skin and absolutely love its finish-so natural. Super matter foundations can look a bit blank in my opinion. You pretty much summed up everything about this lovely thing. Great review as always!
